Ganpati Puja Introduction
Lord Ganesha is worshipped with all sixteen rituals along with chanting of Mantras during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja or Parthiv Maha Ganapati Pooja. The process or the rituals is known as Shodashopachara Puja (षोडशोपचार पूजा) as it involves sixteen (16 ) different steps.
Ganesha Puja can be done any time on that day with no specific time ( Muhurta) Generally it’s recommended to be performed in the morning.
All rituals which are prescribed during Ganesha Puja are given below and it also includes sixteen steps which are prescribed in Shodashopachara Puja.
These two rituals are done for newly bought statues of Lord Ganesha mainly made of clay or also with any other material.
Here the entire Pooja vidhi is given in details which includes the Materials (सामग्री), Correct Arrangement of Pooja (मांडणी ), Some important instructions (सूचना ) Main Pooja ( मुख्य पूजा) and pooja done before the idol is taken to a water body for immersion. (उत्तरपूजा)
The devotees are requested to offer Dakshina (दक्षिणा) for Guruji by clicking on the button. This offering is completely the Donor’s choice and there is no compulsion of anyway. The Dakshina received is shared with Guruji performing the pooja.
